Determine the Weight per Unit Area of Paint Layers
The transition to electric mobility depends on the availability of high-quality electric motors. To build small, light and efficient drives, the insulating varnishes on the electrical steel needs to be applied as thinly as possible - without sacrificing uniformity. A new inline sensor measures the thickness of all types of varnish using infrared spectroscopy at a measuring frequency of up to 450 Hz. Even very dark varnishes and varnish layers of < 0.5 µm are no problem.
