Axalta, an international supplier of liquid and powder coatings, announced the 100th installation of its Irus Mix mixing system in mid-July 2024. This system was designed as a fast, efficient, fully automated and completely autonomous mixing system for the automotive refinish industry. The installation took place at the French body and paint store Carenove, which has been using the paint manufacturer’s Standox refinish brand for over 20 years.
The fully automatic mixing system enables accident repair workshops to mix refinish paint systems quickly for increased productivity and profitability. In addition to high color accuracy, the system is designed for ease of use. As it relieves the painters and increases capacity usage, it eliminates bottlenecks in the paint shop.
“Axalta Irus Mix is specifically designed to help our customers meet or exceed their business goals. This is achieved by maximizing their profitability while minimizing their environmental impact,” explains Troy Weaver, President Global Refinish at Axalta. “The installation of our 100th system underscores our commitment to helping our customers optimize their business through efficiencies and technology.”
“The system not only offers cutting-edge innovation, but also demonstrates increased efficiency,” emphasizes Lionel Tiberghien, Deputy Director General of Sepamap, the parent company of body and paint specialist Carenove. “Axalta Irus Mix supports our commitment to reducing our impact on the environment by eliminating material waste and using 50% recycled plastic in its proven bottle system.”
Axalta Irus Mix won the 2024 Edison Award for Innovation in the Environmental and Industrial Solutions category.
