The Dürr Group has received the highest award, a platinum medal, in the EcoVadis sustainability rating for the first time. This puts the mechanical and plant engineering company in the top 1% of all companies rated by EcoVadis and has improved its overall score from 72 to 80 points since the last rating. Progress in the areas of sustainable procurement, the environment and labor and human rights was the decisive factor here.
The independent rating agency EcoVadis has been evaluating the sustainability performance of over 100,000 companies on a scale of 1 to 100 points since 2007. A platinum medal is awarded from 80 points. The EcoVadis rating is based on 21 criteria from the four areas of sustainable procurement, environment, labor and human rights and ethics.
“The EcoVadis award reflects the great progress we have made in the area of sustainability in recent years,” says Dr. Jochen Weyrauch, CEO of Dürr AG. “We started with bronze status, improved from silver to gold last year and have now achieved the platinum medal. This development encourages us to consistently continue on our chosen path and further expand our sustainability activities.”
The EcoVadis rating also has an impact on the Dürr Group’s financing costs. For example, the interest on outstanding promissory bills with a total volume of € 485 million is partly linked to the rating. This means that ecologically and socially responsible business practices also pay off financially for the company, for example through lower interest rates.
