At the UV Days, which took place from 13 to 16 May in Nürtingen, Germany, organiser IST Metz welcomed over 1300 guests and 55 exhibitors from a total of 46 countries. The exhibition was accompanied by 30 lectures, 16 live print demonstrations on the in-house sheetfed offset press and 8 live demonstrations on the narrow web press. With 13 industry partners, industrial applications were represented more strongly than ever before at the UV Days. During the tour it became clear that, even outside the printing industry, the applications of UV, LED and excimer systems for industrial applications are manifold, for example in the processing of materials such as glass, plastic or wood and wood-based materials. IST Metz presented its new excimer laboratory system for the first time in live demonstrations. The system, which is more than three metres long, can be used, for example, for matting lacquers. Since excimer lamps are cold light sources, heat-sensitive materials can also be treated.
