The professional world of electroplating and surface technology looks back on successful ZVO Oberflächenentage in Leipzig: From September 14 to 16, 2022, the congress took place for the second time in the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) - as usual in presence. Both the venue and the program and organization earned high praise from the 515 participants, according to the Zentralverband Oberflächentechnik e.V. With the traditional welcome evening, ZVO Chairman Walter Zeschky opened the ZVO Oberflächenentage 2022 on September 14 in the Congress Hall at the Zoo in Leipzig. He was pleased with the lively attendance and a complete occupancy of the exhibition space for companies - 65 international exhibitors presented themselves in the foyer of the CCL. It was also positive that, in addition to well-known participants from the circle of specialist companies, new suppliers were also represented. And a high number of young professionals in the audience illustrates the future viability of electroplating and surface technology. Nevertheless, the industry has come under considerable pressure as a result of recent events - from the faltering supply chains to the shortage of raw materials, the shortage of skilled workers and skyrocketing energy prices. For this reason, Zeschky was pleased that numerous specialist presentations attempted to highlight possible solutions to these problem areas. The individual lecture blocks were devoted to topics such as "Climate neutrality, energy and resource efficiency", "New demands on electroplating and surface technology", "Results from research: Young colleagues reported" and "Chromium(VI): Where do we go from here?". Advances in plant and control technology and new developments in functional coatings and cathodic corrosion protection were also presented. In parallel, there was a business forum: Management meets Surface. ZVO Managing Director Christoph Matheis summed up: "We received overwhelming feedback on this year's ZVO Oberflächenentage in Leipzig. Both the venue and the selection of topics and quality of the almost 90 presentations were praised. Our exhibitors were also more than satisfied and reported many good discussions at the stands. Although with 515 participants we could not quite match pre-Corona times, the ZVO Oberflächenentage 2022 met expectations. Perhaps the most rounded event we have had so far!?".
