De Felsko has completely revised and technically upgraded its Posi Tector 6000 gauge. The coating thickness gauge for all metal substrates now has a 2.8˝ large color touchscreen. The rotatable display also makes it easier to work overhead. The manufacturer has also optimized the shape and feel: Thanks to its rubberized surface, the new model generation is said to fit better in the hand than its predecessors. Flexibility and versatility in use have been retained: the device is still able to accommodate a wide range of probes. They can even be changed while the device is switched on. In revising the series, De Felsko took numerous customer requests into account. They led to details such as direct help to all menu items, the Instant-On function, which starts the instrument immediately from sleep mode, or the Fast mode with up to 90 measurements per minute. The user can now save up to 100 screenshots for archiving and evaluating his measurements. Advanced models have a memory for 250,000 measurements in up to 1000 blocks. Also new: In SSPC-PA 2, ISO 19840 and IMO PSPC 90:10 modes, the software supports the user in complying with the standards; he is automatically prompted to enter max/min specifications. Despite additional features, the manufacturer has been able to increase battery runtime by 30% for all instrument variants. In addition, the series is now protected against dust and water jets to IP65. The device is distributed by MTV Messtechnik, the German sales agency of De Felsko.
