A new addition to Afotek's product portfolio is a biological and cost-efficient exhaust air purification system. Due to the growing cost pressure in the industry, the company has been looking for alternative solutions to conventional exhaust air purification. Painting and coating processes cause exhaust gases and vapours that pollute the environment uncleaned. In order to protect them, the exhaust air must be cleaned before the process air is discharged into the atmosphere. The main component of the biological exhaust air purification system is two cylindrical silo containers which are filled with a carrier material. This is charged with a humectant enriched with chemicals and nutrients. The microbiological mechanism of action is based on the use of aerobic bacteria which biochemically convert the gaseous organic pollutants into harmless or odourless products by oxidizing them to carbon dioxide and water.
