Axalta has developed Plascoat PPA 742, a single-layer thermoplastic coating that can be used as a primer on numerous metallic substrates in conjunction with an Alesta topcoat to provide optimized corrosion protection performance. The specific properties of the primer allow easy application - even on metallic substrates with sharp edges. It thus adapts to the entire spectrum of component shapes. The primer can be used for coating street furniture, construction fences, metal structures and other metal parts, among others. Consistently good results are achieved regardless of differences in thermal mass. Plascoat PPA 742 ensures optimum intercoat adhesion and high stability when applying the topcoat. Further advantages are the very good adhesion as well as the long durability.
