In order to coat surfaces in a high-quality and efficient way, multi-layer structures are almost always used – such as KTL or 2K epoxy primers combined with 2K PU top coats. These coating systems score points in terms of adhesion and corrosion protection, as well as very good UV and chemical resistance. Their disadvantage is a high VOC content, which has to be compensated for with complex, expensive ventilation and filter technology. FreiLacke, on the other hand, is now setting new ultra-high-solid systems that are designed to fully meet the requirements for reducing the VOC content in coatings. With a solids content of up to 80 percent by weight, they have a VOC value of less than 350 g/l.
