Axalta recently acquired a production facility in Çerkezköy, Turkey, for its powder coatings business. The plant, which is currently undergoing modernization, will support the growth of Axalta's powder coatings business in the region. The entire product portfolio of premium powder coatings will be manufactured at the new production site in the future. This also includes the collections Matt, Fine Structure and Silky Gloss, which have been specially developed for architectural applications. Klaus Gast, Axalta Business Director for Powder Coatings in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), explains: "This is an excellent opportunity for Axalta to further expand its powder coatings business in the region. By acquiring an already established production site, we will be able to supply the local market with our products more quickly and thus respond more quickly to the growing demand for high-quality products from our customers in Turkey and the surrounding regions." All Axalta premium powder coatings manufactured in Turkey meet the requirements of Qualicoat Class I and II and are free of heavy metals and TGIC (triglycidyl isocyanurate). Axalta plans to open a new Colour Experience Room for architects and designers in Istanbul at the end of 2019. "Due to its steady growth and as one of the largest in Europe, the Turkish powder coatings market is of central importance," says Gast.
