The paint and coatings manufacturer Mipa will take over the business operations of Warnecke & Böhm GmbH on January 1, 2023, and will continue to manage the WB Coatings brand. Warnecke & Böhm's product range and customer relationships will be organized primarily by Feycolor GmbH in Regensburg, which is part of the Mipa Group. However, the products will be manufactured in cooperation between the various Mipa production sites, depending on the product area. "The traditional WB Coatings brand is to be retained in any case even after the takeover," emphasizes Markus Fritzsche, CEO of Mipa SE. "This means that the relevant customer base will continue to be offered the familiar range of products, while at the same time the support provided by a specialized industrial coatings company in Bavaria will remain." Marcus Preußner, Managing Director of WB Coatings, is also certain that he has made the right decision in handing over the business to the Mipa Group. "The sale of Warnecke & Böhm GmbH to Mipa SE is a strategically important step in aligning the WB Coatings brand for the future. The long-standing, very successful cooperation with Mipa will also ensure a smooth transition." After the death of the former owner in June 2022, Warnecke & Böhm GmbH was inherited by a foundation, which, however, has no interest in continuing a business operation. The site at Schliersee will be used elsewhere in the medium term and is not part of the takeover by the Mipa Group. The 40 employees of WB Coatings will be offered jobs at locations of the Mipa Group. The common goal of Warnecke & Böhm and Mipa is to keep the negative impact on the staff at the Schliersee site as low as possible. Preparations for the takeover at the end of the year are already underway and will be implemented step by step. Warnecke & Böhm sells its products, which have already been produced mainly in the Mipa Group for several years, in Germany and neighboring countries. Warnecke & Böhm's customers are primarily industrial consumers in the fields of mechanical and plant engineering, medical technology, glass painting, audio technology and metal housings, as well as users of special solutions for the automotive industry. The acquisition of WB Coatings' business means a further addition to the Mipa Group's customer base and product portfolio in the field of industrial coatings, with numerous synergies with existing Mipa products also being successfully exploited.
