After seven successful years with Axalta, Executive Vice President Steve Markevich is leaving the company. He headed the Global Transportation Coatings business unit since 2013 and was responsible for the Greater China region since 2016. Hadi Awada will now join the Global Transportation Coatings business unit as Senior Vice President and will head the global car and commercial vehicle coatings businesses. "Hadi Awada will play a key role in the continued growth and strengthening of Axalta's Transportation Coatings business," said Axalta CEO Robert Bryant. "He has a commercial approach and has an impressive track record in managing companies that evolve to provide innovative solutions to their customers. He also has a strong focus on developing close customer relationships and is a dedicated leader. I am confident that Hadi Awada and our outstanding management team in Transportation Coatings will continue to drive growth in our global passenger and commercial vehicle business, both in existing and previously underserved areas within the transportation industry". Awada is moving from Tier 1 automotive supplier Faurecia to Axalta. He has held several positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he was President for Clean Mobility in North America and a member of Faurecia's North American Board of Management. He has also led the development and deployment of new technologies to meet customer needs for sustainable and innovative solutions. Prior to that, Awada held various business roles in Germany, the United Kingdom and Asia, including Vice President of Faurecia's Emission Control Technology Division in China.
